My system runs Windows 11 with a Ryzen 5 3600, GTX 1650 Super, 64GB of RAM, and an ASUS ROG STRIX B550-F Gaming motherboard. World of Warcraft becomes noticeably laggy during raids, and lowering spell effects and following optimization tutorials has not solved it. What upgrade or settings change would make the biggest difference?

Your motherboard makes a Ryzen 5000 X3D processor a particularly good upgrade path. A Ryzen 7 5800X3D would provide a major boost in WoW without requiring a new motherboard, DDR5 memory, or a full platform change. Other 5000-series X3D chips can also help, but the 5800X3D is a strong drop-in option for this system.
World of Warcraft is heavily dependent on CPU performance, especially in large raids. The Ryzen 5 3600 is probably holding you back more than the graphics card, so a CPU upgrade should be your priority.
Make sure you’re using a wired Ethernet connection first, since Wi-Fi instability can look like game lag. After that, the CPU is the most likely limitation.
Which CPU would you recommend? I’m already using an AM4 motherboard, so I’m unsure whether it makes sense to move to AM5 just for WoW.
