What Specs Should I Choose for My First 1440p Gaming PC?

I'm planning to build my first gaming PC aimed at 1440p resolution with a budget of around $2500. I'm hoping to keep costs under that if possible! My gaming doesn't revolve too much around AAA titles—I'll mostly be playing custom Call of Duty Zombies, modded versions of GTA V, some Sonic games, and eventually titles like Black Myth: Wukong and Helldivers. I initially spec'd out a setup with a Ryzen 7800X3D and a 9060 XT 16GB, along with a 2TB SSD for just over $2000. I'm curious if I really need the 7800X3D or if I'm allocating my budget effectively. I'd love any tips to ensure my PC lasts a while without needing upgrades down the line!

Honestly, you’ll probably get more value with a Ryzen 9700X and a stronger GPU. Don't hesitate to downgrade the CPU a bit to fit the 9070 XT into your budget—it's a good trade-off!

What would be the lowest CPU you'd still recommend pairing with the 9070?

You might want to consider going for a 9070 XT instead of the 9060. It's better suited for 1440p gaming. Just my two cents! Also, if you're primarily gaming on a 65" TCL QM6K TV, that could affect how you approach this build. Might not need an overkill CPU with that.

Is the 9070 actually better than the 9060 for 1440p? I'm curious about that too.
