Hi everyone! I'm new to this forum and looking for some advice. I currently have an old Fanxiang S101 1TB SATA SSD, and I want to upgrade it to something better. My budget is around £160. I have a B450 GAMING PRO CARBON AC motherboard, and I think I need an M.2 NVMe drive? I'd really appreciate any suggestions or tips you might have for me since I'm not super experienced with PC building! Thanks!

You’re on the right track with looking for an M.2 NVMe drive! Your motherboard has two M.2 slots, but be aware that using those may disable a few SATA ports or PCIe slots. For your needs, I recommend looking at the Crucial T705 1TB PCIe 5.0 SSD for about £149.99—it’s one of the fastest out there! Another option could be the Silicon Power UD90 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD for around £119.97. It’s a good budget choice, though it might not be as strong during heavy writing tasks. Just make sure to install it in the correct slot to get the best speeds!

Thanks a lot for the great suggestions! I think I’ll go with the Crucial SSD! Quick question—will I need any extra tools or parts to install it?
