I'm looking to buy a new SSD to boost my storage for gaming. Right now, I'm using a 500GB SSD for my OS. Here's my setup:
- **Processor**: AMD Ryzen 5 5600G with Radeon Graphics
- **RAM**: 32GB
- **Graphics Card**: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060
- **Motherboard**: B550M Aorus Pro-P
I'm open to spending more, but obviously, I'd prefer something on the cheaper side. I want at least a 1TB SSD, but I'd consider up to 2TB if the price is right. I want to make sure it can handle games without slowing things down. By the way, I'm still relatively new to building PCs, so any guidance is appreciated!

Hey, if you're unsure about NVMe compatibility with your motherboard, you can usually check the specs on the manufacturer's website or look at the manual that came with it. It’ll tell you which slot types it supports. And for games, high-performance options can be important just for loading times, but for many titles, any decent SSD will suffice!
For gaming, pretty much any SSD will do, but it helps to know if you're leaning towards SATA or NVMe. Check out the flowchart available in the guide I linked; it should give you good recommendations! For most games, an entry-level or mid-range SSD works just fine. Just keep in mind that the difference in 'speed' usually isn't as crucial for gaming as it is for other tasks.
