Hey everyone! I just got my first new GPU, an RTX 5070, and I'm planning to swap it out with my current Radeon RX 6600. I'm doing this with my dad, who did some research through AI, but I'm not sure if I can trust it. I want to get some reliable steps to follow before I make the switch. Here are my specs for reference: B660M PRO RS motherboard, Intel Core i5, and 32GB of RAM. I'd really appreciate any guidance. Thanks a bunch!

Also, just a heads-up! Make sure your power supply can handle the new GPU. Do you know the model of your power supply? It's important to ensure it's sufficient for the RTX 5070.
Your new GPU should actually work right away, but like the others said, it's smart to use DDU to remove the old drivers before installing the new ones, especially since you're moving from AMD to Nvidia. If you need help with DDU, just look up a YouTube tutorial—it’ll show exactly how to do it step by step, and they're usually super helpful.
First off, you might want to download Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) to uninstall your AMD drivers. While it's not always strictly necessary, it's a good practice. After that, swap out the GPUs and power up your PC. Then, just use the Nvidia driver installer and you should be good to go! It's really not that complicated.

I personally always uninstall old drivers before switching out cards, just to avoid any potential issues.
