What to do if my phone has been dropped in water?

I accidentally dropped my Oppo Find X8 Plus in water, and I'm unsure about what to do next. It's rated IP69, but I'm not completely clear on what that means in terms of water exposure. Should I turn it off, or is it safe to leave it on? Also, when can I start charging it? I want to avoid causing any damage, and I've found very little information online about charging an IP69 device right after it gets wet.

My grandson's Oppo got submerged while washing dishes, and after a couple of days drying out, it started working fine again. Just be patient with it!

IP69 is one of the best water resistance ratings out there. It can withstand high-pressure water jets, so a quick dip should be fine. However, it's still a good idea to let it dry out a bit before charging to avoid any issues. Just give it some time and you should be all set!

IP69 rating? Just shake it off, wipe it down with a tissue, and carry on. I've had much worse experiences with my phone. If you’ve got a vibrating mode, use it to help clear any water from the speaker or charging port too.

I don't know if Oppo has the same feature, but some brands like Samsung won't let you charge if they detect moisture in the port. It's best to let your phone dry for a few hours, and you could even use silica gel packets to help speed up the drying process.
