What to do if the CPU Debug LED is on and there’s no display?

I was using my computer yesterday when it blue-screened during an update. Unfortunately, the PSU cable came unplugged mid-update, and now I have no display, with the CPU Debug LED lit up. I've tried some troubleshooting steps like unplugging the PSU, holding the power button to discharge any static (thanks to some advice I found), and attempting to reset the CMOS—though I'm not sure if I did that correctly. I'm fairly knowledgeable about PCs, so I'm open to any advice. Can't quite pinpoint the issue here, though!

Holding the power button to clear static isn't harmful, but it won't fix your issue. Based on what you've described, I'd wager that the motherboard might be defective, especially since the power was cut during an update.“

Really? That's a bit concerning. Do you think the motherboard could have failed that quickly from an interruption like that?
