I'm trying to identify the type of connector used for the male power input port on my Lenovo Carbon X1 ThinkPad Gen3 laptop. My goal is to find an adapter that will let me connect this power cable to the USB-C power input of a newer Lenovo X1 Gen9 model. However, I first need to know what this connector is called so I can effectively search for the right USB-C adapter. The power supply is rated at 20 volts and 65 watts, but I have a feeling that finding such an adapter might be quite difficult.

Surprisingly, I found that the adapter you're looking for is actually available on Amazon. There seems to be enough demand for it that several companies are producing them. Just make sure to check reviews before purchasing!

Be careful with those adapters! Since they need to manage electrical conversions and communicate with your laptop for power delivery, using a faulty one could potentially damage your device. I'd recommend getting a genuine USB-C charger that meets your laptop's power requirements instead.

It looks like what you're dealing with is often referred to as the "slim tip" connector, which is proprietary to Lenovo devices. You might want to search using that term when looking for your adapter!

Thanks for the info! That definitely helps me narrow down my search.
