Hey everyone! I recently got an Acer GX-781 from a family member, but it didn't come with a hard drive. I'm totally new to this and have no clue what type of hard drive I should be looking for. Is there a specific kind I need, or can I just choose one as long as it meets certain specs? I understand the PC is a bit older, so I don't expect it to run the latest heavy games like Genshin Impact, but I'd love to be able to play casual games like The Sims. Sorry for the noob question, and my English isn't perfect, so I appreciate any help!

I'd recommend going for an SSD rather than just a regular hard drive. Any PC from the last couple of decades should work with 2.5" SATA SSDs. However, it's worth checking whether your PC supports M.2 NVMe SSDs, which are more commonly used these days.

You should be fine with any SATA drive. A 2.5" SATA SSD is a good option, and while they're less common, they are still available.

Thanks for the advice, everyone! Do you think this Kingston NV3 PCIe 4.0 NVMe 1TB M.2 SSD would fit? It looks similar to the old one I had.

That won’t work. You need a SATA M.2 SSD. Although it looks similar in size, the interface is different. A 2.5" SATA SSD will also do the trick. You can check this list for compatible options!
