Hey everyone! I recently got an Acer GX-781 from a family member, but it doesn't have a hard drive. I'm completely lost when it comes to choosing the right one. Do I need a specific type of hard drive, or can I just pick one as long as it meets certain specs? The PC is a bit older, so I don't expect it to handle heavy games like Genshin Impact, but it would be great to play something like The Sims on it. I'm new to this and English isn't my first language, so any advice would be super helpful!

You should be good with any SATA drive! A 2.5" SATA SSD is a great option and can definitely speed things up. Just make sure it fits and works with your PC.
I'd recommend going for an SSD rather than a traditional hard drive. Most PCs from the last couple of decades will support 2.5" SATA SSDs. Just double-check if the PC can handle the newer M.2 NVMe SSDs for a better performance boost.
Thanks for the tips! What do you think about this one? Kingston NV3 PCIe 4.0 NVMe 1TB M.2 SSD. It looks similar to the old one.
That specific one won't work because you need a SATA M.2 SSD. Even though the shape is right, the interface differs. Alternatively, a 2.5" SSD would also work just fine. I've got a list of compatible options if you need them!
