What Upgrades Do I Need for 1440p Gaming on a Budget?

I just got a HP Prodesk 600 G3 MT for $23, and it has an i5-6500 processor, 4GB of DDR4 RAM, and a 310W PSU. It's my first PC, and I'm looking to game at 1440p, mainly for CS2 and Valorant on medium settings, along with doing some 3D design in Fusion 360. I used a bottleneck calculator, which suggested I could go with a 3060 or 3060 Ti for my setup. What upgrades do you recommend for my current configuration, especially regarding a new PSU? I'm also thinking about bumping the RAM up to 32GB and have already added a 500GB Samsung 870 SSD. Additionally, can anyone suggest a good monitor for this setup? Thanks!

For gaming at 1440p, I'd recommend looking into a Ryzen 5 5600X or an i5-12400F for better performance. As for the GPU, a 3060 Ti is great, and for a PSU, you should aim for at least 650W to ensure enough power. There are good budget options like the MSI MAG A650BN or the Corsair CX650. For monitors, the MSI MAG series or Samsung Odyssey might be solid choices! Just a heads up—upgrading everything might be overkill for your current PC, as it might be hard to salvage much from that $23 deal!

I’m on a tight budget too, about $230. Any chance you have cheaper alternatives?

For your PSU, 500W is the minimum you'd want. However, HP PCs often have proprietary connectors, so you should check if you need a specific adapter for the motherboard, like a 24-pin to HP 6-pin. As for GPU size, make sure your case can fit it—dual-fan GPUs should work but triple-fan ones might be too large. Also, I'd recommend a minimum of 16GB DDR4 RAM since games like CS2 can be CPU-intensive and you might face bottlenecking with your current setup.

My case isn't SFF, so I should be fine. What specific GPU do you recommend?
