I've built a gaming setup about six years ago with the following specs: an AMD Ryzen 5 3600 CPU, an ASRock B550 Phantom Gaming 4/ac motherboard, 16 GB of Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4-3200 RAM, a Samsung 860 QVO 1 TB SSD, and an MSI VENTUS XS OC GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER GPU. I'm looking to upgrade to run newer games like Ark, Cyberpunk, and Starfield at better than the lowest settings. Would buying an RTX 3060 and an AMD Ryzen 7 3800X help me achieve this? Also, would upgrading to 32 GB of RAM be beneficial?

To really boost your performance, focus on both CPU and GPU upgrades. The Ryzen 5000 series has great options. You could definitely consider the 3060, but if you're looking to upgrade your CPU, something like the Ryzen 5600 or 5600X is more beneficial than the 3800X.
Definitely start with the GPU upgrade first. The 3060 makes a big difference!
First off, what's your budget and monitor resolution? If you’re gaming at 1080p, I'd suggest looking for a used Ryzen 5600X and considering a new AMD 9600XT. That combo should serve you well!
Monitor your CPU and GPU usage through task manager to identify what’s bottlenecking your performance. Just a heads up, Cyberpunk is pretty demanding, so pitching it as low-key might be misleading. If you're aiming for something truly reliable, look at getting a 5050 or 5060 instead of a 3060.
Thanks for the advice! I'll look into the Ryzen 5600 options.
