I bought this used system for $850 and am considering a graphics card upgrade, but I'm not sure what would be a sensible choice. I mainly game at 1440p and 120Hz, including Cyberpunk at Ultra settings, and I also use the PC for productivity tasks like Excel. The system is also fairly loud while running modern games.
Current parts:
- CPU: Ryzen 5 7600X
- GPU: GeForce RTX 3060 12GB
- RAM: 32GB DDR5-6400
- SSD: WD Black SN7100 1TB
- Motherboard: Gigabyte B850M Gaming X WiFi 6E
- Cooler: NZXT Kraken 120 AIO
- Case: NZXT H3 Flow Micro-ATX
I'm in the US. What GPU or other upgrades would provide the best improvement, and what should I check to reduce the noise?

If the computer already performs well enough for your games, keeping the money is also a valid form of future-proofing. Upgrade when the RTX 3060 is actually holding you back rather than relying on benchmark scores. UserBenchmark results aren’t a particularly useful basis for deciding upgrades; use game benchmarks at your target resolution instead.
A card around the RTX 5080 class would be a major jump and is suitable for demanding 1440p gaming, but only buy one if the price fits your budget and your power supply can handle it. A cheaper upper-midrange GPU may offer better value for 1440p, especially if you’re willing to use DLSS or frame generation. The specific brand matters less than price, warranty, cooler quality, card dimensions, and noise reviews.
There isn’t really a universal “future-proof” upgrade. For your use case, the RTX 3060 is the obvious limitation at 1440p, while the 7600X and 32GB of RAM are still solid. Before choosing a card, compare current prices and make sure your power supply, case clearance, and airflow are adequate. For the noise, check whether the GPU or the 120mm AIO is responsible, then adjust fan curves, clean dust filters, and consider undervolting the GPU. A larger air cooler could also be quieter than a small 120mm radiator.

I mostly want to run Cyberpunk at Ultra around 1440p and 120Hz, and the noise is most noticeable in modern games. I’m in the US.
