I'm building a PC with my son, and we're trying to pick the right video card. It's been a bit overwhelming with the current prices. I'm considering the 5060 Ti with 8 GB for $450 or the 7900 XT with 20 GB for $670. I really want to find something that's a good value for performance without breaking the bank. Are there any better options out there? I posted our full build on PC Part Picker, although I might get it cheaper with some bundle deals at Microcenter nearby. Also, we mainly play Minecraft and Terraria, but I expect to dive into some AAA titles like the Oblivion remaster and Black Myth: Wukong. I'm willing to compromise on graphics quality for a better deal.

It would help to know what games you're playing! For the 5060 Ti, I wouldn't recommend the 8 GB version since it's pretty underwhelming. You might find better value in the 16 GB version, if you can swing it. My RX6600 with 8 GB handles Hogwarts Legacy decently, but it’s crashed on me due to VRAM issues. Consider something with more VRAM if you're looking at heavier games.
If you're open to used cards, look into a 3060 with 12 GB. It tends to work great with games like Black Myth: Wukong. Also, consider downgrading your CPU to a 7700X or 7600X so you can allocate more budget for a quality PSU. You want to ensure stability with your system.
Definitely avoid the 8 GB version of the 5060 Ti if you plan on playing games like O:Re. A 3060 with 12 GB would actually be a better choice, plus it usually handles VRAM more effectively than the newer 50 series. Just be cautious as some of the 12-volt power connections have been problematic.
It's surprising that an older model might be better. Thanks for your advice!
Thanks for the tip! I updated my post to include more about the games we're playing.
