I'm hosting an online study group that used to meet in person. In our face-to-face meetings, the discussion flowed freely, with people jumping in and sharing ideas all at once. However, online meetings seem to restrict us to only one person speaking at a time. It can get awkward when two or more people want to talk simultaneously and we end up pausing to figure out who should speak next. I'm currently using Google Meet, but it doesn't allow for this kind of interactive discussion. Are there any videoconferencing solutions that can support multiple speakers at the same time, mimicking an in-person conversation?

Actually, many videoconferencing platforms limit audio to just the main speaker. If you want a truly free-flowing conversation, make sure to check settings on whatever platform you choose. But definitely, Zoom and Teams are your best bets!
Microsoft Teams also supports this feature, so you could give that a try as well.
Just a heads up, though. The issue you’re facing might be more about latency than the platform itself. Even if you manage to get multiple speakers, high latency can still throw off the conversation experience.
