Hey everyone! I'm looking for some clarity on the voltage requirements for MacBook Pro laptops, specifically the 2010 model. I couldn't find any info online about this, and I need it to build a makeshift power supply. Any insights you can share would be really helpful! Thanks in advance! Also, if you're thinking about suggesting I buy a new laptop or charger, I genuinely appreciate the concern, but I'm looking for a DIY solution here.

The adapters usually convert the input voltage based on what the computer needs. I think you're confusing voltage with wattage. They sold those adapters as 35W, 65W, or 85W. If you’re unsure which one to go for, I’d recommend the 85W version since it's compatible with all the MacBooks from that era.
I've used various MacBook chargers all over the globe, and they adjust to whatever country's voltage you’re in. The charger handles everything from 120V in the US to 230V in Europe without a hitch. Just remember to change the plug for the right socket type!
Honestly, if you can, just buy a new charger that's compatible with your model. You can find 60-85W MagSafe chargers for cheap these days. The 60W is for the 13-inch model and the 85W for the 15-inch, which should work fine.
I totally get that, but sometimes a DIY approach can save you some cash! If he's looking to build his own supply, why not help him out instead?
That's great info! But I’m actually more interested in the output voltage, the one that powers the laptop, not the input voltage. That’s what I really need to know.
