What’s a good GPU upgrade for my PC under $500?

I recently picked up a used PC that includes an MSI Z370-A PRO motherboard, a GTX 1070 with 8 GB VRAM, an i5-8600k processor, and 16 GB of RAM. I'm looking to upgrade the GPU and have a budget of $500. Any recommendations?

You might want to consider that while getting a stronger GPU can help, your i5-8600k might bottleneck some of the newer models. Make sure you choose wisely!

That's a good point. I was considering the RTX 3060 with 12 GB VRAM, which is below $500, but I'm worried about performance with the i5.

Before making a decision, ask if you’re planning to upgrade your CPU in the near future, or if this GPU upgrade is all you want for now. Also, a heads up to check what power supply you're using, because it can impact what GPU you can install!

I don’t plan on upgrading the CPU, and I'm using a Delux 650W power supply.
