What’s a good PC upgrade for gaming on a budget?

I'm looking to replace my aging laptop which I've had for nearly three years. It's been pretty unreliable lately; I need a WiFi extender just to connect, and I'm running out of space on my 4 TB storage. I've got another 2 TB drive I can't use due to motherboard limitations. I'm hoping to find a new build that doesn't break the bank. My budget is around $1000 to $1500 USD, but I'd prefer to avoid pre-built options. I'm not super savvy with the technical details, so I'm also unsure if the two builds I found are worthwhile. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

I found a build that's a bit cheaper and has a better GPU and CPU than what you listed. Check it out here: [Cheaper Build](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/MHKBgn). It gives you a bit of breathing room in your budget for accessories like a monitor or mouse, too.

Honestly, for your budget, I'd suggest looking at prebuilt PCs, especially if you're not confident in building one yourself. They can offer some great deals. If you live near a Costco, check there; they usually have pretty good prices on decent systems.

I’ll definitely look into Costco, didn’t think they’d have good deals for PCs!

Those components are pretty old and overpriced right now. Check out newer builds; I just put together a couple of options that are more budget-friendly and updated for performance. Look at these links for reference: [Build Option 1](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/fHLJzP), [Build Option 2](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/GVRJzP). They include solid GPUs and CPUs. Also, consider refurbished drives for storage; they can be a steal with warranties!

Both of those builds seem outdated, man. Instead of posting them here, I'd recommend going over to a dedicated PC building forum and sharing your budget and needs without all the extra details. They'll help you find a solid build that fits your criteria. PCPartPicker is also a great place to find current builds that fit your budget.

That’s a solid plan, I’ll check those out. I thought I did my homework, but I guess I missed some current options!
