What’s Better for RAM: 16GB + 8GB or 2x 8GB?

Hey everyone! I'm trying to figure out which RAM configuration would be better for my setup: 16GB combined with an additional 8GB, or should I go with two 8GB sticks both running at 3200 MHz? I appreciate any advice you can give! Thanks!

From what I know, having 16GB + 8GB can work well as long as both sticks are the same speed. I currently run with a mix of 8GB and 4GB at 2133MHz, and it's smoother than when I had just 4GB. But keep in mind, typically only the first 16GB will run in dual channel, while the 8GB will be in single channel, which might be slower. So, matching speeds is key!

Yeah, I believe it works similarly with odd numbers. It sounds like the system prioritizes dual channel until it runs out of RAM sticks. So, the odd stick could run slower, but it's tricky! You might end up with 12GB in dual channel for a bit, but I’m not certain.
