What’s Causing My Gaming Performance Issues?

I'm noticing some serious performance problems while playing League of Legends and Counter-Strike 2. In League, the game is nearly unplayable during team fights, even when I set the graphics to the lowest settings. My framerate drops to around 60, but I usually get 110-120 during idle gameplay. I'm experiencing similar issues with CS2. I've got dual-channel RAM at 3000 MHz total and there seems to be a discrepancy with my GPU display—it's showing 4 GB instead of the 8 GB I expect.

Here are my specs:
- **Operating System**: Windows 10 Home 64-bit
- **CPU**: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X (61 °C, Matisse 7nm Technology)
- **RAM**: 16.0GB Dual-Channel DDR4 @ 1496MHz (16-20-20-38)
- **Motherboard**: Gigabyte B550M AORUS ELITE (AM4, 17 °C)
- **Graphics**: 4095MB NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER (52 °C) with two monitors (one at 1920x1080@144Hz and another at 1920x1080@60Hz)
- **Storage**: 931GB Hitachi HDD and 476GB Intel SSD
- **Audio**: Logitech PRO X Wireless Gaming Headset

How do you know your GPU isn’t actually 4GB? Have you seen it allocated that amount during usage? Your RAM usage seems high, which is a big issue, but I'm also concerned that your 2080 SUPER might not be genuine.

There’s definitely no 4GB variant of the 2080; everywhere else on my PC shows 8GB. I think it's just a speccy glitch.

Also, you might be running out of RAM while gaming. What’s your RAM usage like? If it's hovering around 90%, that could definitely slow things down.

Yeah, it typically hovers around 90% when I’m playing.

It sounds like you might be dealing with thermal throttling or a driver issue. Have you checked your CPU and GPU temperatures during gaming? They can get pretty high if the cooling isn't up to par. Most folks see around 70-80°C during intense gaming sessions, which could be a red flag.

Yeah, I'm hitting around 70-80°C while gaming, but I usually sit at 60°C when I'm just browsing.

I make sure to update my graphics drivers right when new releases come out.

From my experience, in CS2, the CPU seems to be a bigger factor than the GPU. It might help to check CPU usage during gameplay.
