Hey everyone! I'm putting together a PC in Malaysia and I'm looking for the best performance-for-value build with a budget of around $1,800 (about MYR 8,000). I'm aiming to run games at 1440P, and I'd appreciate any suggestions you have on components that might improve performance, cooling, or overall aesthetics. I'm looking for a sleek, dark theme with some subtle RGB lights to match my monitor (CM GM34-CWQ2, UWQHD 3440×1440, 144Hz). Here's my current build:
|Component|Model|Price (MYR / USD)|Notes|
|:-|:-|:-|:-|
|**CPU**|AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D AM5 Processor - Tray Unit|RM 1512.24 / $354.86||
|**Motherboard**|MSI B650M GAMING PLUS WIFI AM5 or Asrock B850M Pro-A|RM 623.92 / $146.41|No clear choice on motherboard yet; looking for decent VRM and value.|
|**RAM**|KLEVV Cras V (2×16GB) RGB 6000MHz CL28|RM 506.00 / $118.74|Low CL for 6000MHz; considering alternatives.|
|**GPU**|GIGABYTE AMD RX 9070 XT GAMING OC 16GB GDDR6|RM 3579.00 / $839.85|Best pricing I found for this region; open to better options.|
|**PSU**|SUPER FLOWER LEADEX III 1000W|RM 567.60 / $133.19|Wondering if I should downsize; seems overkill.|
|**SSD**|KINGSTON KC3000 Gen4x4 2TB|RM 588.12 / $138.01||
|**CPU Cooler**|THERMALRIGHT Phantom Spirit 120 Evo Dual Towers|RM 199.75 / $46.87|Looking for a good budget cooler.|
|**Case**|Techware Timber M-ATX (Free 3x front 120mm + 1x rear 120 Fans)|RM 145.50 / $34.14|Stylish but open to upgrades if needed.
Thanks in advance for your help!

Check out AliExpress for better prices! I recently got components there for my build, maybe you could snag some bargains on parts that fit your budget. But just keep in mind customs could be a roll of the dice.
You should definitely think about upgrading your case. It really changes the building experience. I’d recommend checking out something like a Phanteks or BeQuiet for better airflow and aesthetics. Even if it costs a bit more, it'll be worth it!
The 1000W PSU seems like overkill for your build unless you're planning on major upgrades later. Consider dropping down to 800W; that should be more than enough for your current setup. And for RAM, CL30 is also a strong choice; you probably don’t need the CL28 unless it’s around the same price. Just something to keep in mind!
Good point! Thanks for clarifying the RAM and PSU choices!
If you're not set on the RX 9070 XT, look into prices for the RTX 5070ti. The 9070 XT might be overpriced in your region, and you could grab a better deal with the 5070ti. Just something to compare!
Good call! The 5070ti seems to be a bit pricey too, actually.
If you want some future-proofing, then sure, stick with the 1000W PSU. But if you're not planning on upgrading too soon, an 850W unit would save you a few bucks and still offer solid performance.
Thanks! I’ll consider a lower wattage PSU then.
That’s a valid suggestion. I've heard great things about BeQuiet cases!
