I'm trying to figure out what kind of AIO cooler would be best for the 7800X3D processor. Do I really need to go for an AIO, or are there good air cooler alternatives? Any recommendations would be appreciated!

You can't go wrong with either the Arctic Liquid Freezer III 240 or 280, both are solid choices and offer great performance!
If you’re open to alternatives, consider sticking with an air cooler instead. For instance, the Phantom Spirit 120 SE is budget-friendly and does a great job. AIOs can carry some risks, like potential failures, while air coolers are usually reliable. If the fan fails, it’s easy to replace without much hassle.
I'd suggest going for the Thermalright or Arctic Liquid Freezer 3, especially the 360mm version. This will give you headroom for future upgrades and the three fans provide extra airflow inside the case.
You really can pick whichever cooler you like based on your budget and aesthetics. Although the 7800X3D runs a bit hot, it’s not because it generates tons of heat; it’s more about the 3D V-cache acting as insulation. Even decent budget air coolers should manage the heat just fine.

I’ve been eyeing the ID-Cooling FX360 INF and the Liquid Freezer III 280. Which one would you recommend?
