I'm building a budget setup for my girlfriend and need a solid CPU. I already have most of the components but really want to choose wisely for the CPU. I had a bad experience with a 9700x; it didn't perform well and I've heard I'm not alone in that. So unless there's a standout option from that generation, I'd prefer to avoid it. Any recommendations?

If you're looking for something cheaper, the Ryzen 5 7500F is under $150 and performs pretty well for budget builds.
