I'm considering switching my 2013 27-inch iMac (with an NVIDIA Geforce GT 755m and 32GB of RAM) to an Arch-based Linux distribution. Cachyos seems to be popular and beginner-friendly, but I've heard it might be more suitable for newer hardware. Is Cachyos the best choice for my machine, or are there other Arch-based options that would work better? I've also thought about just installing Arch itself, but that seems quite complicated.

People often criticize Manjaro, but I've had a great experience with it. My installations last a long time and require minimal effort to maintain. It might be worth considering!
Your i5-4570 can handle CachyOS, but you won't be able to use the latest NVIDIA drivers since your GPU is a bit older. The newest supported driver is 418, and it might not work well with newer kernels. I'd suggest using the Nouveau driver instead. Also, if you're new to command-line stuff, you might find Fedora KDE to be a smoother option as a beginner.
Do you have any experience with Linux? If you want to dive deep into it, Arch-based distros are fantastic! They provide flexibility and control, but they can be a bit challenging for beginners.

Thanks for the advice! I really appreciate the info about the drivers. I'll check out Fedora KDE too!
