What’s the Best Budget GPU for a Ryzen 5 5600X?

Hey everyone! I'm currently studying Multimedia Design and need a better GPU for my university work and for gaming at 1440p with a refresh rate of 100 Hz. Here's my current setup: I've got a Ryzen 5 5600x, 16GB of DDR4 RAM (with plans to upgrade to 32GB), and a GTX 1650 Super. My motherboard is a Gigabyte B450M DS3H V2.

I'm shopping for a GPU under $350 and I live in Ecuador, so it needs to be available with free shipping. I've spotted some options, like an Asus 5060 OC for $300 and a non-OC version for $250 (before import taxes). Are these good choices for my setup? Also, I know I'll need to replace my PSU, so if anyone has suggestions for a quality unit under $120, I'd appreciate it! I'm currently considering the Corsair RM850e as an option.

What software are you using for multimedia design? You might want to consider those specs. The Asus 5060 has 8GB of VRAM, which should be good unless you can find a used RTX 3060 with 12GB. That'd give you a nice performance boost, especially for gaming like Fortnite!

I mostly use Blender right now, but I know we'll also be working with Cinema 4D and possibly Unreal Engine. Fortnite is my go-to for testing performance, but I'm still having issues with stutters even after upgrades.

I’d recommend looking for a 9060 XT 16GB if you can find one around your budget. Prices fluctuate, but they’re often around $370. For a PSU, the Montech Century II 850W is a solid pick with great value that should work well for you.

I have a setup similar to yours, with a 5600X and a 6750XT paired with an RM850e. It's definitely more than I need, but I'd suggest considering the 9060XT 16GB if it's available!

Your existing PSU should manage the 5060 well! It’ll be a worthwhile upgrade and can handle 1440p gaming for what you need. While it's normal to get different suggestions, don't let them pressure you into overspending—this card should be great for your use case!

Thanks! I just noted that it’s a Corsair 650W, 80+ Bronze, but I’m looking to upgrade it for better protection. Think that’s a good move?

Quick update! I decided on the Gigabyte 5050 with 2 HDMI ports which was a major selling point. Also picked the RM850e for improved cable management since my current PSU isn’t modular, plus I upgraded to 32GB RAM. I have noticed some screen freezing when gaming at 1440p though; could my 1650 Super be struggling? Would you think it’s a monitor issue?
