What’s the Best CPU Cooler for a Ryzen 7 5700X Build?

I'm building a PC and I've already purchased most of the components (my GPU is on the way), but I'm considering switching out my CPU cooler for something better. I plan to use this setup for video editing and gaming, playing titles like Cyberpunk, Sims 4 (with mods), Minecraft (with mods), Detroit: Become Human, F1 25, Silent Hill, and Final Fantasy. I'm looking for recommendations on CPU coolers that would fit well with my Ryzen 7 5700X. Any suggestions?

You really can't go wrong with any tower cooler that has copper heatpipes, especially since the Ryzen 7 5700X has a low thermal output of 65W.

Noctua is always a go-to for CPU cooling questions. You can't go wrong with their products, and the classic brown and tan color scheme is just a bonus for some extra aesthetic appeal!

That cooler you have will definitely work for your setup, but if you're considering a larger one, it might not boost performance much but could be quieter. I recommend checking out Thermalright's Peerless Assassin; it’s a solid cooler for the price, even if it's a bit overkill for your needs.

Thanks for the detailed info! Do you think the Thermalright Assassin Spirit V2 is a good fit for my build, or is it too much? This is my first build, so I appreciate any guidance!

For casual use, you really only need something that costs under $50 unless you're planning on heavy overclocking or sustained CPU-heavy tasks. Most budget coolers will handle your Ryzen just fine.

Is the cooler I currently have at the limit of my budget? I'm also a bit concerned it might get really loud when in use.

You don't need anything too fancy. A Cooler Master Hyper will do just fine. Also, looking at your entire build, if possible, I'd recommend getting the 9700 XT and possibly swapping to a different PSU brand.

I appreciate the tip! Just to clarify on the PSU, I couldn't find compatibility info on the 9700 XT—do you think it might not fit?

If you’ve got a cabinet style cooler, just get the one you find appealing visually. Usually, any cooler is easy to handle in terms of cooling capacity, even the stock Wraith, which should do the job well!
