Hey everyone! I've got a Ryzen 7 3700x paired with a 2060 Super (it's about 5 years old now), and I'm looking to step up my gaming experience at 1440p. I want to play more recent games without breaking the bank, ideally not spending more than $1000 on a GPU. I've heard from AI that I shouldn't go beyond a 7800 XT or a 4070 Ti for my setup. Can anyone help me with some suggestions? I'm strictly looking to upgrade my GPU at the moment. Thanks!

I recently picked up a 7800 XT and it's a beast for the price! Just about two weeks in and I'm really impressed.
Honestly, I think you might want to look into the 7800 XT or 5070. Both are great options and can definitely deliver performance without bottlenecking too much depending on the game and resolution. Just make sure you find one within your budget!
I've seen those cards going for over $600 CAD here, and that feels a bit steep for me. Any ideas on something cheaper?
What about compatibility? How do I make sure my CPU is good to go with a new GPU?
If you're considering future-proofing, you may want to set aside some cash for a CPU upgrade down the road. The 5070 is a solid value, and there are also second-hand options if you're open to it. But honestly, don’t forget about your CPU performance; it might limit you in some newer games!
Definitely planning to upgrade the CPU soon, maybe catching discounts on Black Friday. The 5070 Ti sounds good, but anything over 12GB VRAM is pricey!
I found an Asus 7800 XT for $639 CAD, but it seems a little pricey. Should I go for it?
