What’s the Best GPU Upgrade for Around $300?

I'm looking to upgrade my GPU but I'm on a pretty tight budget of $300. Right now, I have a 1660 Super, and it's just not cutting it anymore for the games I've been playing. I've heard good things about the RX 9060 XT, but it's a bit over my budget. I've also looked into the RX 6600 and RX 6650, but I'm not sure how long they'll hold up in the future, and I want to avoid upgrading again soon. I typically prefer Nvidia graphics cards, but I've read that AMD might be a better choice for budget builds unless there's a good Nvidia or Intel alternative available. I also feel like I need something with at least 12GB of VRAM. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

What country are you in? That might help narrow down your options.

With a budget of $300, your best bet might be Intel's Arc B580, but it has some driver issues, which makes it a bit risky. Older AMD cards are also questionable due to potential lack of driver support. You could look for a used RTX card, but that can be a gamble without a warranty. If you can stretch your budget a little, the RX 9060 XT 16GB is a solid choice for both 1080p and 1440p gaming. It'll likely serve you well for a few years without needing another upgrade. Plus, if you spot a RTX 5060 Ti 16GB on sale under $400, that’s worth considering too since you’ll have access to Nvidia's features like DLSS. Just keep in mind the 3060’s 12GB might be a bit limited in the coming years.

If you keep an eye out for deals, you might snag a used 4070 for about $350. But if that doesn’t pan out, I’d stick to the advice about going Intel for now.

The RTX 3060 with 12GB is a strong option if you can find it at a good price. It’s really capable and should last you a while!

Waiting for Black Friday or Cyber Monday deals could be a good idea! You might find something on sale that fits your budget perfectly.

That sounds smart! I’ll definitely keep that in mind.
