I'm considering an upgrade from my current RTX 2060 6GB while using an i7 9700k. I know this CPU might start bottlenecking soon, but right now I'm torn between getting a used RTX 3080 10GB for $400 from a friend, or waiting to see if I can snag a 5060 Ti or 5070, with a budget of around $500 to $600. I recently tried playing the new Oblivion and it made me realize how much my setup is lagging. Currently, I'm gaming at 1080p, but I'd like to switch to 1440p in the near future, and I occasionally play on my 4K TV, although that's rare. I'd really appreciate any advice!

If it were me, I’d be inclined to wait for the RTX 5070 or look for an RX 9070 if prices drop back to MSRP. Those options might be a better long-term investment, especially for future-proofing your setup.
You might want to check out the used market. I scored a 4070 Ti for $500 on Facebook Marketplace, and it's in really good shape. It’s worth browsing local listings to save some cash!
That’s a great idea! I usually find good deals online, not sure why I didn’t think of that first.
Just to share, I got a 7900 XT for $600 as part of a bundle with a 7800 X3D at Microcenter. It runs solid for 1440p gaming! Oblivion isn't on my list yet, but I’ve seen over 100 fps on Ultra in Cyberpunk without ray tracing.
Nice! I went with a 9700X as well. How are you finding the 7800 X3D performance?
Exactly! If those cards were at normal prices, I wouldn't hesitate to grab the RX 9070.
