Hey everyone! I'm looking for some advice on building a PC primarily for MATLAB along with a few specific tools like QSMbox, SPM, Cat12, and I plan to use ITKSNAP with AI mode. I used to run these applications on my work computer, but now I'm back home and feeling a bit out of my depth with PC components. I'm considering an AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D processor, a Gigabyte X870 Gaming WiFi6 motherboard, 64GB of Kingston DDR5 RAM at 6400MHz, and a 2TB Lexar NM790 SSD. I've been told that the Gigabyte GeForce RTX 5070 Ti with 16GB of memory might be the ideal graphics card, but I'm unsure if I really need something that powerful. I was thinking an RTX 5060 Ti could work too. What do you think? Is the 5070 worth it or will the 5060 suffice?

If you're not going to be gaming at all, then the 5060 Ti should be more than enough for your needs. Also, I noticed the price difference between the 7950X3D and the 9950X3D isn’t huge, so it makes sense why you’d go for the latter. Just focus on getting the right GPU for those MATLAB applications!
Are you planning on doing any gaming, or is it strictly productivity software? If gaming isn't in the picture, a 5060 Ti with 16GB should serve you well. Plus, you probably don’t need the high-end X3D CPU unless you have very specific requirements.
