I'm really into gaming and have a bunch of games not available on Steam. I'm looking to make the switch to Linux as my main OS. Which Linux distribution would be the best for gaming and using Wine?

For a solid option, I've had good experiences with Nobara and CachyOS too. Both seem to be popular choices among gamers right now.
If you're looking for something modern, check out CachyOS. It has the latest drivers and is built on Arch, so it's pretty efficient! Plus, you can choose KDE Plasma, which gives you a familiar look if you're coming from Windows. Lots of support available too, especially in their Discord community.
I’d highly recommend Bazzite for gaming. It’s designed with gamers in mind and tends to work well with a variety of games and setups.
Bazzite is a good choice if you're techy but don't want to deal with too much hassle. It automatically installs your hardware drivers, which can save you some frustration compared to other distros like Ubuntu.
Honestly, it doesn't matter too much which Linux distribution you choose. They're all pretty much variations on a theme. As long as you pick one that's well-supported and documented, you should be good to go!

Yeah, but for someone just starting out, it might be less confusing to go with a user-friendly option like Bazzite first, then switch to something else later if they want to.
