I'm looking to create a super minimalist setup that's almost entirely terminal-based. Ideally, I'd have a window manager (WM) and a browser, using the terminal as my main way to navigate everything. I'm not interested in any desktop environments. I've done some research and considered using Arch Linux, nnn for file management, and Vim as my only text editor, but I'm stuck on choosing a WM. I'm really just seeking to try something new and different!

Ranger is a great file manager to consider. As for your window manager, i3 is lightweight and very user-friendly for configuration.
If you're after a minimalist experience, Tiny Core Linux is a solid choice. As for a window manager, you could try Openbox, JWM, or even a tiling WM if that's your style.
I have a similar setup using Debian, Sway, and Vim, plus I installed Foot for terminal features like image support. It’s pretty neat to view images directly in the terminal and I also use Firefox for browsing. It might feel more complete if you can try adding a couple of additional apps.
You have plenty of options for window managers. I suggest checking out i3, Sway, or Hyprland. You'll find a lot of recommendations since everyone has their preferences, so it's worth experimenting with different ones.
