I just built a new gaming PC featuring an AMD 9950x3d and an Asus Strix 870-E motherboard. I'm trying to find the best operating system for it. Windows 11 is feeling too bloated with unnecessary features and potential spyware, so I'm looking for alternatives. I need an OS that supports DirectX 12 and HDR, as this PC will mainly be used for gaming and some streaming. I use Xbox Game Pass, Steam, and Epic Games, so I need support for all those. I've heard mixed opinions about Windows 10 LTSC, which is nearing its end-of-life and may not support HDR well, and Windows 11 IOT LTSC being good, while some suggest sticking with Windows 11 and just debloating it. I've tried debloating before, and it didn't go well, so I'm hesitant to go that route. Before I start my build, I'd love to hear any recommendations or advice from people who've recently faced this choice!

Honestly, I would also suggest Windows 10 or even stick with Linux if you're adventurous. There's really no solid alternative to Windows 11 right now. Windows 10 does have HDR support, but it lacks the calibration tool that Windows 11 has, which is a downside for sure.

If you're into Xbox games, you're really limited to Windows or nothing. That's just how it is.
