What’s the Best PC Setup for Watching YouTube on My TV?

I'm not a gamer, but I enjoy connecting a PC to my TV so I can watch YouTube without the interruptions of commercials by using an ad blocker. I'm looking for something budget-friendly that has an HDMI port and a decent CPU. Should I build a PC myself, or would it be better to get a refurbished one from a site like Amazon? I'm planning to install Linux Mint on it.

Honestly, if all you want to do is watch YouTube, I'd suggest getting an Android TV box. They allow for ad-free viewing and provide a really smooth experience. Much simpler than setting up a whole PC!

Have you considered using a Roku or something similar? Most smart TVs can run YouTube apps directly without needing extra devices. Getting a whole PC just for that seems like overkill.

You might want to check out eBay for a refurbished Dell OptiPlex mini PC. They're powerful enough for streaming and usually come at a good price.

For a fun project, you could build a Raspberry Pi. It’s a solid little computer that can handle streaming, plus it’s an enjoyable build experience!

If you're just looking to watch YouTube, a mini PC from Amazon would be a great option. They're generally affordable and perfect for streaming without any fuss.
