I'm trying to decide on a power supply unit (PSU) for my new PC build. Is there a universally accepted "best" PSU, or can I just go for the cheapest option available? Also, I'd appreciate any suggestions for the rest of my build. Here's a link to my current parts list: [link].

A few things to clarify:
1. Do you have any parts already, or is this a fresh build?
2. Is this PC strictly for gaming?
3. Is your budget still around the $3100 you’ve listed?
4. Where are you located? Just want to make sure you’re picking parts that suit your region.
Consider skipping that GPU; I have a 9070 XT and find only a 25 fps increase with the 3090, plus it’s obviously much pricier. You could use that extra cash to get a better CPU like the 9800X3D instead, which would offer way more value for the price.
Is your 3090 new or used? It matters because if it's used, you might want to consider future-proofing your build instead.
Before you settle on a PSU, do you already have an RTX 3090? If you don't, I’d suggest going for a 5070 Ti instead; it’s about half the price and performs well!
I actually picked up my RTX 3090 for $700 from a friend right when the 40-series launched!
The RTX 3090 is pretty old now. Maybe consider a build with a 5080 instead? They’re more cost-effective and newer tech! Check out this build I found: [link].
I’d go for an A850GS PSU; it's cheaper but performs better overall!
I got my RTX 3090 for $700 from a friend too!

Yeah, it’s used.
