I'm thinking about getting an SSD specifically for gaming, but I'm confused by all the conflicting reviews online. Is there a genuine difference in gaming performance among various SSDs? I want to know which SSD is currently the best for gaming in terms of speed. What other features should I be considering?

Look for an SSD that’s at least 4th gen. You want something with a read/write speed above 4000 and a high TBW (write endurance)—I'd recommend at least 400-500 TBW for longevity.
Stick with PCIe 4.0 NVMe drives from brands like Western Digital, Samsung, Crucial, or Sabrent. Just make sure to get one with a minimum of 4K speeds, and you should be good to go. Anything beyond that won’t make a huge difference in most gaming scenarios.
For reliability and performance, grab an SN850X or a 990 PRO if you can afford it. Those are solid options!
Honestly, you don’t need to splurge on the top-of-the-line SSDs. The Crucial P3 Plus offers fantastic value for gaming, and I regret overpaying for my Samsung 990 PRO. You can get great performance without breaking the bank!
If you opt for a PCIe Gen 4 or 5 NVMe, you probably won't notice any real performance difference among the models while gaming. Most of them will perform well enough!
Thanks for the tips! I’ll definitely keep an eye out for those options.
