What’s the Best Upgrade for Improving Gaming Performance?

Hey everyone! I'm looking to upgrade my PC because it's been struggling with some games lately, especially Arc Raiders and similar shooters. I mainly use my PC for gaming, and I've noticed it can barely handle modern AAA titles even on lower settings. Here are my current specs:

- **CPU:** Ryzen 5 3600 (with a Cryorig H7 cooler)
- **GPU:** Nvidia 3060ti
- **RAM:** 16GB DDR4 3000MHz
- **PSU:** 600W Gold
- **Monitor:** 165Hz 1440p
- **Motherboard:** MSI B450 Tomahawk Max

I'm considering upgrading to 32GB of RAM and possibly replacing the CPU, but RAM prices are pretty high right now. If upgrading the RAM won't make a significant difference, I'd prefer to focus on something else. I realize that I'd see better frame rates at 1080p, but I enjoy gaming at 1440p. What do you all think would give me the best performance boost?

I think upgrading either the CPU or GPU would be better than dumping money into more RAM, especially given how pricey memory is right now. Your current setup should allow for decent performance; boosting your GPU might give you immediate results in games.

Alright, thanks! That makes sense. Do you think I'd get more benefit from a new CPU or GPU first, or should I consider both?

Honestly, I'd recommend focusing on upgrading your GPU for the best performance gains. 1440p gaming is less CPU-intensive, so sticking with your current CPU might be fine for now. Look for options like the 9060XT with 16GB or the 5070 and higher. If you're considering used parts, the 4070 and up or AMD's 7700XT are great options too!

Oh really? So it'd be better to upgrade the GPU instead of the CPU? I was worried my CPU might be holding me back since it's a bit old.
