What’s the Best Way to Build a Gaming PC for $500?

I'm looking to build a decent gaming PC on a $500 budget, but I'm pretty much a newbie in this area. My goal is to play games like Overwatch and Roblox at around 100-150 FPS. My friends have switched to PC, and I want to join them, but I don't really know where to start or if this budget is realistic for a good build. Any tips or suggestions?

You'd likely need to look at used AM4 systems. Finding something with a decent GPU and 16GB of RAM is key, but it might be challenging at this price point. Prices for parts are pretty high right now!

For that price, building a new PC is tough. It might be better to buy a used prebuilt or custom-built system instead. Check platforms like Facebook Marketplace for some good deals!

Would I use Facebook Marketplace for that?

Check out offerup or other used marketplaces. You can often find pretty good deals, and don't forget to ask sellers to show it in action to make sure it's in good shape!

Honestly, if you're looking to achieve 100-150 FPS, your budget is a bit tight. A decent keyboard, mouse, and monitor could take up a significant chunk of your $500. If you already have those, you might want to consider buying used components to stretch your budget further.

It sounds harsh, but saving a bit more might be the way to go. $500 won't get you a PC that outperforms a PS5, so maybe aim for a thousand to really get something nice.

Ok, I’m about to buy one for $750 with an RTX 5060 and 16GB RAM. Is that a good deal?
