I'm having a tough time getting my Xbox Core Wireless Gaming Controller to stay connected to my PC. When I hook it up via Bluetooth, it keeps disconnecting every 10 minutes despite having updated the firmware with the Xbox Accessories app. I've tried several controllers, but the problem persists. My motherboard is a ROG Strix Z690-E Gaming WiFi with built-in Bluetooth. I also tried a USB-C cable, but it disconnects randomly depending on how I move it. I remember Microsoft used to sell a wireless USB dongle for Xbox controllers, but I can't find it anywhere now. Is that dongle the only reliable option for connecting Xbox controllers wirelessly on PC? Or is there another solution I'm overlooking? How do others manage stable connections? Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

You really need that dongle for stable connections. Bluetooth can be super unreliable on Windows—trust me, the dongle makes a big difference. I don’t connect my controller any other way now.
Good to know! I was thinking of getting one myself.
You might want to check out some generic dongles on Amazon. Just look for Xbox PC dongle or USB adapter. They work really well!
Awesome, thanks for the tip!
Sounds like you might be having driver issues if it keeps dropping after 10 minutes. Consider reinstalling your Bluetooth drivers to see if that helps!
I’ve had great luck with my elite controller over Bluetooth on my PC. If you’re using an older model, it might just be time to upgrade your controller for better compatibility!
Same here! This issue has been driving me nuts.
If your Bluetooth setup is dropping even with a USB-C cable, your controller could be in bad shape. It might be worth checking if that’s the issue.
Thanks! Do you know if those dongles are still available for purchase? I haven't seen one lately.
