What’s the best way to safely remove a GPU from my motherboard?

I accidentally forgot to remove the protective wrapping around my graphics card before trying to take it out. I'm attempting to release the GPU from my Gigabyte Stealth Ice B850 motherboard, but pulling it out isn't working. I remember seeing something about a release mechanism, but when I press it, nothing really happens. Is it safe to pull harder, or could that damage either my GPU or motherboard?

There's usually a lever on the side that you can use to release it. Just make sure you're pushing it in the right direction, then it should come out with a gentle tug.

For your motherboard, there’s an easy release button located just below the RAM slots. Make sure to find that, and it should help you get the GPU out safely!

Don't just rip it out! Check the slot where the GPU connects to the motherboard; there should be a latch on the right side of the slot. You need to push it down towards the motherboard until it releases the GPU. Just be gentle and steady when pulling it out, and be patient with it!
