What’s the Best Way to Start Building Clone Apps?

I'm a Java backend developer, and a friend who's a CPA shared a list of niche SaaS products making around $1.5 million annually. I'm interested in creating a similar app but I'm struggling to find the time and energy to tackle it all by myself. Does anyone have advice on how to approach building this with Claude?

Here’s how I would approach it:

1. **Start with Claude Desktop:** Feed it screenshots of what you want to clone and instruct it accordingly. Just be specific!
2. **Utilize Claude Code:** If the first attempt isn’t great, get Claude to refine the code, making it neat and professional. Focus on different sections one by one.
3. **Documentation is key:** Create README, style guides, and documents to track your progress.
4. **Iterate and refine:** Keep going back and updating the project with the detailed screenshots you have. Always stick to your style guide to maintain consistency!

The easiest advice? Just ask Claude! You’ll be surprised at what it can help you accomplish.

Honestly, just dive in! Start by opening a new project and make sure to plan it out thoroughly. I used GitHub to keep everything organized, and it became a great starting point for my own project. I felt a bit lost at first, but using webhooks and various workflows guided me through. It’s live now and works like a charm! Check out my site if you want to see an example: textfixer.co.uk.

I've noticed a lot of folks hesitate to ask Claude for help. Seriously, just hash out your ideas with Claude and keep notes in a document. With Claude Code, you can get an implementation going, but remember, solid planning will save you a ton of time in the long run.

So true! A few days of careful planning can really cut down on the coding time later!
