What’s the best way to transfer data from an old Android phone to a new one?

I just got my boyfriend a new Android A16 since he's been using his Galaxy S7 for a long time. I'm trying to figure out how to transfer all his important data like texts, photos, apps, and voicemails to the new phone. I've heard about Smart Switch for this, but I'm unsure about what to do with the SIM card during the process. Any advice would really help!

There’s definitely an app for that! Most Android devices have a built-in feature to help you transfer everything over. Just make sure both phones are charged and connected to Wi-Fi. The process should be pretty smooth!

Just a heads up, should I put the SIM card in before I start the transfer or wait until it’s done?

To get all the data across, just use a USB cable if possible. It can make the transfer faster and easier. The app should guide you through it all once you connect! Just don't forget about those voicemails—they might not transfer unless you back them up!

You typically have to remove the SIM card from the old phone and insert it into the new one to keep your phone number. If the new phone comes with a pre-installed SIM, you could just use that instead!

Yeah, the A16 usually comes with its own SIM card. You can swap it in, depending on what you want to keep.
