What’s the Best Way to Transfer Steam Games Between PCs?

I'm looking to move my Steam games from my laptop to my desktop PC. I was wondering if an external HDD would do the trick, or if I should go for an external SSD instead. Once I transfer the games, I won't be playing them from the external drive since my desktop has a powerful SSD. Is the transfer rate difference that important? Also, is it common for people to play games directly from an external SSD instead of moving them entirely to the desktop?

You might want to consider using Steam's Network Transfer feature! If you're logged into Steam on both devices, you can directly install the game from your laptop to your desktop without creating any extra load on your data. Just enable it in the settings on both devices, and it’ll make the process super smooth.
