I'm looking to increase the storage on my MSI Cyborg 15 laptop, which has an i5 processor and an RTX 3050. It only has one SSD slot, so I need to replace the current SSD. I want to know how to do this without losing any data or progress on my projects. Additionally, would it be better to just use an external USB drive instead?

You could also consider getting a larger SSD and cloning your data over. It’s a straightforward process, and there are tutorials available online. Just make sure to choose a reliable cloning tool and follow the instructions closely.
To replace your SSD safely, you can get a new NVMe SSD and an enclosure for it. First, clone your current SSD to the new NVMe using drive imaging software. Macrium Reflect and Acronis True Image are good options, but some may have a cost. The clone allows you to keep all your files intact, and once it’s done, just swap the drives. Make sure to keep your old SSD as a backup until you're sure everything transferred correctly!
Be careful with those cloning commands! If you mess up the drive selections, you could accidentally erase important data. Windows backup can also help with cloning your drive.
Thanks for the detailed steps! I just need to find a way to scrape together the cash for these tools.
