What’s the Best Way to Upgrade My RAM from 16GB to 32GB?

I'm looking to boost my PC's performance by upgrading the RAM from 16GB to 32GB since it's not quite enough for my needs anymore. I purchased a prebuilt system a while ago, and while I know RAM upgrades are relatively affordable, I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed with the options. Here are my specs:

- Intel Core i5-12400F
- MSI GeForce RTX 4060
- Current RAM: 16 GB DDR4-3200 CL22 (2x8 GB, dual-channel)

Also, just to add, my motherboard only has 2 slots.

For DDR4 RAM, aiming for 3200 CL16 or 3600 CL18 is a solid choice. It’ll help improve your system’s responsiveness.

Check your motherboard to see how many RAM slots you have. If you have 4 slots, you can just add 2 more 8GB sticks with similar specs (like CL22). If not, you'll need to replace the current sticks with 2x16GB. For DDR4, go for at least 3200 MHz CL16 or 3600 MHz CL18 for better performance.

I've been using the T-CREATE Expert 2x16 3200 MHz RAM and it works like a charm! Highly recommend it if you're looking for reliability.

Make sure not to mix RAM kits! If you upgrade, it's best to replace your current sticks with a single, matched kit for better stability and performance.

I upgraded my RAM to a Corsair Vengeance 32GB kit and it's been great! Definitely worth it, and it was pretty affordable in my area, especially for the performance boost you're getting.
