I'm in search of a reliable web filtering solution for my small business. I need to block categories of websites like those for converting YouTube videos to MP3s, illegal streaming sites, and of course, inappropriate content. I came across PiHole, but I'm not sure if it's the best option for my setup. I have 10 workstations that require this filter, but I'm not concerned about the personal devices on the network. Since my number of workstations is small, I'm hoping to find a simpler (preferably free) software solution than PiHole. Is PiHole really the best choice for me?

You might want to look into using OPNsense in a VM, or check if your Wi-Fi router has web filtering features. Some routers come with pretty decent filters built in, so it could save you some setup time!
If you have a little budget to spare, consider NextDNS. It’s a paid service but very easy to manage compared to a local install like PiHole. They offer numerous blocklists and some advanced features that simplify the whole process. I've been using it for my family’s devices and would probably go this route if I were in your shoes!
For me, blocking malicious sites is priority number one. I do filter out inappropriate content as well but focus mostly on potential security threats. Just be sure your chosen solution covers that aspect effectively!
You might want to check out dnsfilter.com. They offer good solutions for filtering, and it might fit your needs.
Pfsense could be another option. It’s a robust solution if you're comfortable with a bit of setup, but it could be worth the time for comprehensive filtering.
I have a Unifi Dream Machine, and while I can set firewall rules for specific domains, the filtering isn't the greatest. Just a heads up!
