What’s the deal with this cheap SSD?

Hey everyone! I found this Silicon Power A55 2TB SSD that seems really cheap, and I'm curious about why that is. I need to expand the capacity of one of my server's cache pools, which isn't hit with heavy writes—just about 100GB a month. The data includes system files, app data, and VMs, so it's pretty important, but I'm backing it up on a separate array. The pool is in RAID 1, so I can technically lose one drive. I'm looking to buy two of these drives, but I'm concerned that such a low price might be too good to be true! Any thoughts?

It's possible the SSD is an older model, and they might be clearing inventory. Just something to think about!

So, the main thing to keep in mind is that this SSD is a SATA drive, which means it's slower compared to NVMe drives. This lower performance can allow the manufacturer to cut costs on components. However, Silicon Power generally makes reliable products, so it might be worth considering!
