What’s the deal with this random app popping up on my Mac?

I've been noticing a strange small window that randomly appears and disappears on my Mac while I'm using different applications, like Pillars of Eternity and YouTube. When it shows up, it kicks me out of whatever I'm doing. The window looks like some sort of terminal, but I can't make out exactly what it is. Here's a link to a screenshot I took: [screenshot link]. Does anyone know what this could be?

Honestly, it sounds a bit like a virus to me. Keep an eye on it and consider running a full antivirus scan just to be safe.

That could be some anti-spyware or a similar program. I’d suggest checking your settings and scrolling through your applications list to see if anything suspicious matches that symbol or program name. It might help you track it down.

I tried searching but couldn't find it in my installed apps. The only mention I found was in a document called Change Log, and it referenced a bug related to NodeJS. So weird!

I can relate! I've seen that window too, but I couldn't pin down what it is either. It seems like a legitimate application because it’s quite bothersome. Just so you know, I think it's linked to NodeJS for some reason. Might be worth looking into that!

Thanks for the tip! Any ideas on why it just randomly pops up?
