Hey everyone! I've been a long-time user of ChatGPT and have seen its evolution from the start. It's been incredibly helpful in my career, even helping me get promoted and automate much of my work. Recently, I transitioned into starting my own business, using AI in various ways throughout that journey. However, I've shifted gears and have been focusing on personal matters, specifically addressing childhood trauma. Now, I feel a bit out of the loop on the latest advancements in AI. Are the new models really better than GPT-3 or GPT-4? As someone using OpenAI at $20 a month, I used to follow all the updates closely but now I'm overwhelmed. Is a million tokens the new standard? Do these new models actually live up to the hype? What should I focus on getting back into? The last major development I remember was with notebook LM, but it sounds like there's been a lot more since then.

The latest Claude 4 models are pretty solid, but they don't represent a huge leap forward from previous versions. They are also a bit pricey compared to newer models like Gemini 2.5 Flash, which performs nearly as well. If you're looking for consistency, ChatGPT Plus and GPT-3 are still very competitive. So, no need to break the bank just yet!
I've seen some wild advancements too! We've got AI generating videos with fictional characters that don't even exist, which is a bit mind-blowing. But yeah, keeping up with all these developments can be tricky!
Right? It's crazy! I'm still trying to figure out how it all works; it seems like the AI is just deciding what to say without clear input from users!
