What’s up with the 80GB of missing storage on my SSD?

I have an SSD that is supposed to be 931GB, but I've noticed something odd. According to my system, I have about 553GB of free space, which means I'm using around 378GB of storage. However, when I add up everything I know is stored there, I only come up with 300GB. This leaves me scratching my head over 80GB that seems to be missing! I've checked for unallocated space, but I couldn't find anything. Does anyone know what could be causing this issue and how I can recover that missing storage? Thanks in advance!

One possible reason for that missing space is how file storage works. SSDs divide storage into blocks, and if you have lots of small files, they can fill those blocks unevenly. This means that you could be wasting some space due to this block allocation. It might seem like you're using less storage, but those small files add up in terms of wasted space.
